Evolving Solutions Helps CaringBridge Charity Solve Website Storage ChallengesEvolving Solutions donates enterprise storage technology solution and implementation support services to enable CaringBridge website users to upload more photos and content.
Hamel, MN, November 24, 2009 – Evolving Solutions, a leading storage consolidation and server virtualization solution provider, has partnered with MN-based non-profit, CaringBridge, to address their website storage challenges.
CaringBridge provides free websites to connect loved ones during serious health events. CaringBridge stores about 35,000 photos, journal entries and guestbook messages every day, which means that a robust storage platform is needed to support the rapidly growing network.
“We had a real storage problem,” said Gary Ablan, technology director, CaringBridge. “With more than 170,000 personal sites on the CaringBridge network and this figure continuing to grow every day, we needed to make a fundamental change to our storage infrastructure to be able to meet the needs of our users.”
Evolving Solutions architected a scalable, enterprise class storage solution which included integration, implementation, training and support services. The CaringBridge network now has the flexibility to expand and users are able to upload numerous photographs and messages without limitations on archiving and storage.
“With over half a million people connecting via CaringBridge every day, it is imperative that they have the freedom to upload more content and photographs then what was previously available,” said Sona Mehring, founder and executive director of CaringBridge. “Thanks to Evolving Solutions, we no longer have to worry about storage capacity.”
“We had been looking to partner with a charitable organization who shares our ethical values,” said Jaime Gmach, Evolving Solutions president. “It was important to us to find a local organization that aligned with our philosophic beliefs and one who would find substantial benefit of our deep technological expertise. We hope that this is just a stepping stone to the development of a long-term relationship with the CaringBridge organization.”
