 ScImage

ScImage, Inc. is a worldwide imaging and information management software company whose solutions have been deployed in cardiology and radiology centers since 1993.

What makes ScImage stand out over the many solution providers in the healthcare field is their approach to Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) which is based on a single database solution for multiple departments. ScImage calls this Enterprise PACS or "Enterprise Imaging" - the ability to capture and manage both DICOM (Digital Image Communication in Medicine) images and non-DICOM objects in one place.

PicomEnterprise - the next generation of PACS
The sheer volume of digital diagnostic images is increasing at an exponential rate from year to year. In the mid-90s, digital imaging solutions came on the scene and changed forever how providers access this information. Then came the advent of web integration with digital imaging.

"PicomEnterprise can encompass all aspects of radiology and
cardiology, with specialty applications for 3D image processing,
orthopedic surgical planning, EKG and document management - all
from a single database solution."
- Leslie Campbell, National Sales Manager, ScImage Inc.

Today, ScImage is leading the way in the next generation of PACS design: making digital and diagnostic images from multiple departments available via the web from the same source database.

What PACS is all about
Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS) coordinate all aspects of digital imaging in a hospital or clinic. This includes capturing images from DICOM and non-DICOM video sources, storing this information in a secure environment, and distributing/displaying clinical images and corresponding diagnostic information. A successful PACS should also seamlessly integrate with existing hospital systems, for example, to share information about scheduled exams. The central server is considered the "brain" and controls the information flow between PACS components.

The solution's modular design makes it extremely flexible and scaleable. It can just as easily be deployed in a large hospital as in a small outpatient clinic and can be outfitted with tools to address both environments unique workflow concerns. And if the form or volume of workflow changes, PicomEnterprise is with you every step of the way to manage those changes.
