The Cisco MDS 9000 Series of Multilayer Fabric Switches and Multilayer Directors, resold by IBM, offers expanded capabilities with the introduction of the Cisco MDS 9000 Storage Services Module (SSM). This module is based on the 32-port Fibre Channel Switching Module and provides intelligent storage services in addition to 1 and 2 Gbps Fibre Channel switching.
